8. Transformation

Listen to: Transformation

The word for your Logbook is – TO – yes, there are 2 of these, and you now have 8 words.

Sparks opened their eyes to see daylight and colours, a peaceful aura with sweet sounds – both natural and digital. Their fingers touched the gaping hole in their chest and pondered on how this could be. Loukas spoke. "Your enemy is defeated. You had to let go of the sword, so that it may find its target. Fear is defeated. This is now your territory and your castle – you are reborn, one-up."

And what a life there was to be had. Sparks found that they could fly, soar above the trees and land safely in the courtyard of their castle. There was so much to explore within the castle, room upon room of precious items, treasures and much more, a sense of wisdom.

The unknown had become clear, and they had control of the whole domain. Sparks' instinct was to remain here forever; they had everything, and there was no need for anything else.

A fatherly voice boomed out, "You can't stay here. You have work to do in the real-world child."

Such a familiar sound and one that brought back a dislike for authority, their child's voice would try to work around this instruction. "Just five minutes, I need to see more."

Foolish words, as minutes and seconds do not exist in this world. The loud voice came back. "These are things you can come back to, and in a way, take with you too."

Sparks had no obvious way of understanding this and just wanted to remain where they were, just as a spoilt child digs in their heels and begins to scream. "You can't tell me what to do," they shouted. Of course, Sparks didn't believe that, but it was their way of showing their strength.

The ever-present father figure seemed content to remain silent. Had Sparks won the day? On the other hand, all that is inside should be reflected on the outside. All of Sparks’ learning can only be effective on the outside. Figuratively speaking, Sparks took the father's hand and began to walk on towards the second divide, between the unknown and the known.

Turn back to your Logbook. What are you feeling? What’s the right thing to do, and will I feel better?

Now, head off to the next checkpoint – Return, why go when all is so good?
