4. A Mentor
The word for your Logbook is – FUTURE – you now have 4 words.
Sparks did not hear a sound, yet there was a sense of something coming. The air was tense, and Sparks felt a chill run down their spine. The silent flight of an owl gave no warning till its appearance on a branch, just three steps in front of them.
“My name is Loukas. I see and hear more than most. You can choose me to be your guide if you wish.” Sparks instinctively nodded; it seemed the right thing to do. Loukas flew gently and rested on Sparks’s forearm, tucked into their chest. The two became one and walked on together through the wooded terrain. As they walked, Loukas began to speak:
“Do you ever feel that your eyes are not fully open? That there are things you can’t hear, and you feel like everyone’s against you.” Sparks nodded. “Don’t worry, things do get better.”
Just think what a remarkable and miraculous thing it is to be you!
Of all the people since the beginning of time,
Not ONE of them is like YOU!
No one's hair grows exactly the way yours does.
No one's fingerprints are like yours.
The few people who laugh at the same things you do
Don't sneeze the way you do.
No one is loved by the same set of people that love you –
NO ONE!
You were meant to be different.
If you did not exist, there would be a hole in creation,
a gap in history, something missing from the plan for humankind.
Share your special self.
Let it be free to flow out among your family and friends wherever you are.
That gift of yourself was given for you to enjoy and share.
Give yourself away!
See it! Receive it! Let it tickle you!
Let it inform you, nudge you and inspire you!
Sparks experienced a new sense of power, though not of strength. No one had told them they were special.
Turn back to your Logbook. What are you feeling? Who am I, anyway, and what gifts am I gathering into my Toolbox?
Now, head off to the next checkpoint – The Divide, something is trying to push us back.
