7. Nemesis

The word for your Logbook is – BEST – your best is always good enough.
Sparks took time to view their surroundings, the hills and valleys, dark forests, and streams. A castle and small dwelling places – though not a living soul to be seen. Loukas spoke. "Well done, young warrior." The voice resembled a father figure, watching over them as they grew.
"There is much more to achieve, and you must summon all you have."
Though this was a gentle voice, it brought a sense of fear and trembling. Sparks’ feet trod further on towards the castle, and they felt the worst was yet to come.
Each one of Sparks’ senses, natural and digital were being alerted to a vile entity. Sparks had long battled with doubt and fear, as from the castle gates a large dark indeterminable shape advanced towards them. Utter darkness consumed this digital warrior, and they felt pain from cuts to the body. Sparks swung wildly with their weapons, though made no contact. Their light was being sucked in by the darkness and reflected nothing that they could strike at. Sparks bade up all that they had and threw it at what they thought was the centre of this adversary. It was useless; they were failing and about to be killed. Loukas spoke in a loud voice. "Let go of your sword, it will find its way."
Sparks had no other option left – this is what defeat looks like – this was the end. Sparks let go of the sword as a fatal blow pierced their heart and they fell.
Defeat is not always the end. Endings are just new beginnings.
You will be surprised how things can turn out.
