The word for your Logbook is – THE – there are 11 words, one for each checkpoint.

Here we are at Base Line. Sparks was bored. I’d rather stay in bed – when do we get to the exciting bit – or am I missing it all? Everything is confusing. What are the rules in this game called life anyway?

Did you know, there’s a hero inside us all – the best part of who we are? This is the Heroes Quest, and it starts here. You just need to follow the QR codes, and the story will unfold. Gather any information as you go and write it in your Heroes Logbook. Don’t miss the Word, gathered at each checkpoint. This will make up a sentence at the end of today’s adventure. Take notice, be aware and don’t miss out – this is more than just a game, and it can help shape your future!

A random message arrived on Sparks’ phone. ‘Make the first step and pass from the known world into the unknown.’ Sounds like a space flight. Without thinking, Sparks picked up the VR headset and by putting it on, agreed to the invite and took the first step. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, a message. What will you take with you? What gifts/ skills will you put in your Toolbox? Sparks thought, at this stage, probably very little. I will need a pocket full of trust, faith, and hope. Learning how to listen and notice what’s going on. I’ve never been in a game like this before. There was a shiver of nervous excitement around Sparks as a cloud of orange light appeared and the digital universe drew them into a place where games yet to be created were waiting in anticipation of a new game's warrior.

Though not consciously aware, Sparks was entering the digital realm and being transformed into a string of binary code; it was as if time itself had stopped. Only as the string was decoded on the inside did Sparks feel whole again. This was weird, Sparks had no idea that emotions existed in this place – their heart sank in abandonment and strained to make sense of these surroundings, it was like walking through a fog. A new kind of awareness grew here, where a compass would be of no use nor stout walking shoes. There was no sign of any collaborators, for this was to be a solitary adventure. Sparks was desperately feeling for the game controller, but this was all now on the inside. Now appearing as an avatar, too real by half. Tall and heavy, it commanded a strong presence within this new dimension. The big question was, who controls the avatar, or did Sparks have control? Trying some button mashing created some impressive combination moves. This was going to be great.

Now, head off to the next checkpoint – The call to go, as the adventure begins.
