3. The Call to Go

The word for your Logbook is – IS – create a sentence at the end of this quest.
Sparks was still in the mist, and somehow the VR set activated their sense of smell. “That’s weird, I can smell flowers and hear rain – I feel wet, but my clothes are dry.” Then a voice, clear and close, just behind and to the left. Sparks spun round. There was nothing to see. “What do you want?” Sparks shouted.
“It’s your turn to follow the ‘Heroes Quest.’ Will you go?
Sparks hesitated, then said, “It’s a game, right? I love games. Bring it on.” Sparks began to think long and hard. What will I need? I don’t know anything about this game – there’s no access to maps, no energy level display – how will this work? The voice spoke as if it could hear Sparks’ thoughts, “Don’t worry, it’s the same as life. Stuff will happen, you learn as you go, and everything will be just fine.” Sparks was still unsure; this was outside their comfort zone.
Sensing the physical world left behind them, full of demands, worries, and what-ifs. Yet, here in the cloud, there was a feeling of safety – of not knowing/ yet knowing. Their steps slowed and became longer. There seemed to be a purpose just beyond reach, and curiosity pulled them on. Not knowing, pushing further and deeper without bearings. Sparks began to recall childhood beliefs, memories, and the stories written so far. Joys and laughter, sadness, and fears. A realisation that this identity was only through their experiences so far. Sparks was convinced that there must be more than this. Why are we here, and where do I go next – can I create my future? To which the digital universe replied.
"Oh yes – from the inside out!"
Take a minute to write some notes in your Logbook about how you feel. The things you see and hear. That way you will remember the story of where you have been when you get back.
What’s your story so far, memories and stuff that makes you who you are?
